News Relay Network is a journalism experiment
What happens when you put editorial control directly in the audience’s hands? We aim to find out.
Our San Francisco newsroom will cover the stories that our community tells us to. It’s a simple concept that challenges the status quo — usually, it’s reporters and editors who decide what to cover, and they don’t consult the public first. We think our approach will bring important untold stories to light and give a loudspeaker to people who haven’t had their say.
To learn more about our methods, go here.
We’re conducting listening sessions with members of a historically marginalized and misrepresented community in San Francisco to figure out if our model is a good fit for them.
If you are interested in supporting this initiative, learning more, or connecting for any other reason, please email Daphne, Laura, or Noah at hello@newsrelaynetwork.org. We'd love to hear from you.
